Signature

Five variations, and the rules that apply to all of them.

Why this matters more than it looks

The signature is the most-reproduced piece of CIGAER design there is. It goes out hundreds of times a week, to exactly the people the firm is trying to persuade, and it is the one asset every member of staff edits by hand. If anything drifts, it drifts here first.

Pick two, not one. A full signature on first contact and a short one on replies. Most signature sprawl comes from people trimming the long version themselves because it is too heavy for a thread — give them the trimmed version and they will use it.

Rules that apply to every variation

RuleSpecification
Never retype the logoIt is a hosted image, referenced by URL. Typing “CIGAER” in a bold font is a misuse — the A and E are custom.
Host the imageServed from cigaer.com over HTTPS, at 2× the display size for retina. Never embedded as an attachment — it shows as a paperclip and trips spam filters.
Dark modeGraphite on a dark client ground fails. Use the reverse logo behind an @media (prefers-color-scheme: dark) swap, or a PNG with a transparent ground that reads on both.
TypePoppins will not render in most mail clients. Specify Poppins, 'Segoe UI', Arial, sans-serif and accept the fallback. Never Calibri.
ColourGraphite #494949 for text, Grey #6C6C6C for secondary, Red #DD1010 for links and the rule. Nothing else.
ContactsOne phone, one email, one address. info@cigaer.com lower case.
Never includeQuotes, awards, social icon rows, “please consider the environment”, or a second logo of any kind.
DeploymentCentral HTML, distributed to staff. Not a template each person rebuilds — that is how eleven variants appear within a year.

The five at a glance

VariationHeightImagesBest for
V1 StandardTallest1First contact and external correspondence
V2 HorizontalHalf of V11High-volume senders and replies
V3 With the markMedium2Building recognition of the hexagon
V4 Text onlyShortest0Plain text, stripped images, universal fallback
V5 ConfidentialityTallest + notice1Counsel correspondence and matter threads
A recommendation, offered as one. V1 for new mail, V2 for replies, V4 as the automatic fallback, V5 for matter correspondence. Hold V3 until the hexagon direction is settled — deploying a mark that then changes means re-cutting every signature in the firm.
V1The current format, kept

Name and title above, a red rule anchoring the block, logo, then address and contacts. Use for: first contact, external correspondence, anything a new client sees.
Strength

Familiar, complete, and the red rule ties it to the report cover band.

Cost

Deepest of the five — five lines below the logo. In a long reply chain it repeats a lot.

V2Logo left, details right

Horizontal

Mumbai  ·  cigaer.com
The logo becomes the anchor at left with a red divider; details sit beside it rather than beneath. Use for: anyone who signs a high volume of mail, and on mobile where vertical space is scarce.
Strength

Half the height of V1. Reads faster and repeats less in a thread.

Cost

Drops the full postal address. Needs a fallback stack on narrow mobile clients.

V3Hexagon plus wordmark

With the mark

Lockup B in the signature — the hexagon alongside the wordmark. Use for: once the hexagon direction is settled and the mark needs establishing in market.
Strength

Builds recognition of the symbol on every message sent. Most distinctive in a crowded inbox.

Cost

Two images to host and two chances to break. Do not deploy until the hexagon is final.

V4No images at all

Text only

CIGAER — Actionable Intelligence
B-708, Central Tower, Kohinoor Square, Dadar West, Mumbai 400028, India
+91 22 6802 6803 · info@cigaer.com · cigaer.com
Every element is live text — no hosted images, nothing to block. Use for: plain-text mail, Outlook where images are stripped, and as the automatic fallback for all four others.
Strength

Cannot break. Renders identically everywhere, indexes as text, adds nothing to message size.

Cost

No logo. Relies on the written form “CIGAER — Actionable Intelligence” to carry the brand.

V5Standard plus a privilege line

With confidentiality notice

+91 22 6802 6803  ·  info@cigaer.com  ·  cigaer.com
This message and any attachment are confidential and may be legally privileged. If you are not the intended recipient, please notify the sender and delete it. Do not forward without written consent.
V1 with a short confidentiality and privilege notice. Use for: correspondence with counsel, anything carrying findings, and any thread where privilege may later be asserted.
Strength

Puts the notice where it belongs on matter correspondence in a regulated category.

Cost

Longest of the five. Should not be the default — a notice on every message is a notice nobody reads.

ENDNext step

To deploy

  1. Choose the default and the reply variant.
  2. Host the logo images on cigaer.com at 2× and confirm the URLs are public.
  3. Build the HTML centrally, test in Outlook desktop, Outlook web, Gmail, Apple Mail and one mobile client — in light and dark.
  4. Distribute as a finished block with install instructions. Do not send a template to be filled in by hand.
  5. Re-issue whenever the logo changes. There is no version tolerance on this asset.
